Critics' Take
Critics love the Galaxy Z Fold 8's new wider, passport-shaped design, which makes it easy to use shut and great for video and games when open. Bright displays with a barely visible crease and solid battery life round out the praise. Nearly every review knocks the missing telephoto camera, and many flag the price, the IP48 rating and apps that don't yet fit the new screen shape.
What critics loved
- Wider passport design that is comfortable folded and great for video unfolded
- Bright 120Hz displays with a much less visible crease
- Strong performance and all-day battery
Common gripes
- No telephoto camera
- Expensive at $1,899.99
- Still only IP48 dust and water resistance
- Some apps don't scale to the new aspect ratio
- Runs warm and throttles under sustained load
