Critics' Take
Reviewers call the 11-inch color E Ink Scribe the most refined large Kindle so far, with a good screen and a pen that feels comfortable. Nearly all of them balance that against the price, which starts at $629.99. Several say the paper-like writing feel and some software details fall short of the best E Ink notebooks.
What critics loved
- Large, sharp 11-inch color E Ink screen
- Comfortable included pen
- Color works well for highlighting and sketching
- Weeks of battery life
Common gripes
- Very expensive
- Software is somewhat sloppy
- Writing feel is not as paper-like as rivals
- No waterproofing
- Large for everyday reading
