Critics' Take
Reviewers call the Pixel Watch 4 the best Wear OS watch and the best smartwatch for Android phones. The domed, brighter display, fast charging, dual-frequency GPS, Gemini wrist-raise gesture and repairable design draw the most praise. Critics fault the lack of sapphire glass, limits for serious athletes, and Fitbit features behind a paid Premium plan.
What critics loved
- Bright domed 3,000-nit display
- Fast charging and about two days of battery on the 45mm
- Gemini wrist-raise gesture and Wear OS 6
- Repairable design and dual-frequency GPS
Common gripes
- Gorilla Glass 5 rather than sapphire
- Not rugged and limited for serious athletes
- Some Fitbit features need a Premium subscription
- New proprietary charging dock
- Gemini wake gesture can be finicky
