Critics' Take
Reviewers call the 2026 Blade 16 one of the best slim gaming laptops, with a bright 240Hz OLED screen, a premium aluminum build and much better battery life from the move to Intel Panther Lake. The chassis is largely unchanged from 2025, and the 25W Core Ultra 9 chip trails thicker rivals in multi-threaded work. Almost every review flags the price, which reaches about $4,900 for the RTX 5090 model, along with fan noise under load.
What critics loved
- Bright 240Hz OLED display
- Slim, well-built aluminum design
- Much improved battery life
- Strong RTX 5090 gaming performance
Common gripes
- Very high price, nearly $5,000 as tested
- Fans get loud under gaming load
- Trails HX-class rivals in multi-threaded CPU work
- Runs hot and noisy in games
- No Ethernet port

“Its crisp OLED display and outstanding aesthetics back are particular highlights, and it's honestly only let down by an extraordinary price tag, and the lack of an Ethernet port.”
