Critics' Take
Reviewers call the Beast the best XR glasses for gaming and video right now. They praise the bright 1920x1200 Sony micro-OLED panels, the 58 degree field of view, built-in 3DoF tracking and a comfortable build. Weak built-in audio, soft edges, fragile software and several features that arrived after launch are the common complaints.
What critics loved
- Bright, vivid Sony micro-OLED image
- Wide 58 degree field of view
- Comfortable, light build
- Built-in 3DoF screen anchoring
Common gripes
- Built-in audio is lacking
- Soft clarity at the corners and edges
- Spacewalker software is buggy and inconsistent
- Some advertised features (1200p, 120Hz, camera) missing at launch
- Mobile Dock needed for Switch 2 and consoles
